Luz Noceda and xenotima

Xenotima (The word "xenotima" comes from the Greek "xeno" (foreigner) and "tomia" (to cut). Therefore, its literal translation would be "cutting of strangers") often this word has another meaning of a person who feels strange or who suffers from impostor syndrome as if they do not belong somewhere, which they do not belong there.

It is worth noting that this feeling is not always the case and due to exclusion from one group to another, many times the group may include you in various activities and still feel foreign or out of place in that place.

One of the cases of xenophobia I saw involved several characters, but we will focus on the main character Luz Noceda. This girl of Filipino origin lived with her mother and had a way of seeing the world that she didn't mind showing to everyone. However, she was labeled as weird. However, this wasn't what made our heroine feel out of place, but rather when her mother, due to external pressure, wanted to change her because she thought she should fit more into the so-called "normal" standard.

This led her mother to enroll her in a camp where, for plot reasons, she finds a magic portal that takes her to another world where she meets people who are also considered weird. Her own guardian, Ida, is out of place in this world. And it's interesting to note that even in the world of witches, Luz is at an extreme disadvantage. She has to concentrate and study a lot to achieve the minimum necessary and is always not taken seriously, having to try very hard in everything she does. As the plot progresses, we see Luz overcome all these obstacles.
